Vision and Goals

The core mission of SECOND is to establish a permissionless, mineable currency that is open to all.

Unlike Bitcoin, which demands millions in mining hardware and electricity, or Ethereum, which requires thousands in ETH for staking to validate and secure the network, SECOND enables anyone with a wallet to mine by paying a modest, refundable 60 $SECOND fee. Mining is designed to be user-friendly, requiring just a single click.

The goals of SECOND are:

1. To create a minable currency that is truly permissionless and accessible to everyone.
2. Allow devs to build applications and services on top of SECOND and receive grants / funding in SECOND without any permission or approval from any central authority.
3. Protocol level funding for public goods and ecosystem development through a portion of the minting fees.
